Week 2
About truth and facts:
Knowing something and having knowledge is like the difference between an open and closed question. Eg I know that the sky is blue but i dont know why it is blue or how its made up.
What is ‘truth?
What do we really mean when we say something is ‘true’?
It means that it is believed or perceived that this is what is.
Subjective and objective.
What is the difference between subjective and objective ‘truth’?
Subjective truth is not confirmed by science & depends on one’s opinion or belief & may be true or false, whereas objective truth is confirmed by science & universally accepted. Whether it is subjective or objective, the truth is only relative & “Realistic”, based on time, place & circumstances & “Absolute Truth” is beyond the reach of humanity, as it is shrouded in mystery. What is a fact’ and can ‘facts’ change ?
A fact is a type of truth and a fact can change depending on future events
Depending on what sort of truth we are talking about means that your discovery of truth will be different
“We do not see things as they are but as we
are” Anais Nin. What does this mean?
This means that our
perception of something or someone is based purely on our own ideas and how we
are and how we see the world. Reality is based on what each individual perceives it to be. But certain rules apply to multiple peoples and their own realities
